Hands-On Learning for Coach Rating Candidates

Coach rating candidates benefit especially from our practice-driven approach:

Active participation in ground school and refresher courses
Initial practical experience with real students
Exclusive wind tunnel training under the guidance of experienced examiners in preparation for your evaluation jumps
Each coach course participant receives 15 minutes of supervised tunnel time to refine key techniques. This allows all future training scenarios to be practiced realistically — ensuring maximum safety, confidence, and professionalism in freefall.

During Skydive Mission events, rating candidates typically gain several free active tunnel coaching time — an exclusive privilege that is truly unique in this form. Train in preparation for your Coach rating with students in the wind tunnel. Gain valuable flight time working with real students — coaching them while preparing both them and yourself for the challenges that await in the sky.

This course is made for skydivers ready to take the first big step into professional skydiving instruction. If you want to coach new jumpers, guide A-license students, and build the foundation for future ratings like AFF Instructor and Tandem Instructor, this is where your teaching journey begins.

As a USPA Coach, you'll learn to brief, fly with, and debrief students safely — in the sky and on the ground — gaining real instructional experience from day one.

Entry Requirements

18+ years old
USPA membership
USPA B-License (or FAI equivalent)
100 jumps
USPA AFF proficiency card signed off
Assisted with one First Jump Course
Current USPA SIM (< 2 years)
